Just a quick note, the post "Accessing Windows Shares Via Cname Alias" is also relevant when performing an install of Symantec Enterprise Vault.

The deployment scanner will indicate that the strict name checking and loop back registry keys be adjust as indicated within that post. Interestingly, the scanner includes a link as to how to disable the strict name option, but not one for disabling the loopback setting. My notes for both in the original post work to satisfy the scanner's requirements for both settings.
